Reader comment on item: Islamists, Get Out

Dear Shazia,

I exactly %100 think the same way with you about İslam. You put it together so well. Really those İslamists are a threat for us,for our freedom and for our beautiful religion. Even in Turkey where a very strict state secularism is being practiced (State has a great allergy to all religions and this is why it cant be a model for other muslim countries except maybe the Asian Turcic countries), there are about %10 sharia followers. Extremists can be even more numerous in the other İslamic countries .Among these extremists we cant know how many go as far to be terrorists. So it is a fact that there is a dangerous section in İslam. And all muslims must fight against them. This is also true.

But what is wrong is that although this backward mentality is living for hundreds of years why suddenly West, mainly USA pointed İslam as an enemy? Because terrorists started to attack West. Okay, but they are also attacking to Egypt, Turkey, İndonesia etc where muslims live. İf west is going to keep its Western values (individual freedom), then they must not show İslam as a total enemy to their people. They must be more responsible and declare them as only terrorists (without putting İslam in front of it) which try to falsely use İslam. All logical people know that by terrorism no one can İslamize the world. Besides before invading the west first they must invade our own muslim countries where in most there are no sharia laws.Terrorists know that they have no strength to do this because we are the great majority.B ut They are trying to create anarchy in the world. They want to divide the world into camps.Unfortunately they are succeding this.

.... And there is a great anger and hate against muslim people living in the western countries today. Ordinary people would like to see all muslims out of their country. We must think who gains from this situation. Muslims gain nothing, lose a lot. On the other hand USA finds a reason to invade Afghanistan, Irak and possibly Syria and İran later, claiming that they are fighting against İslamic terrorism. İf USA starts sending the Muslims away from America, can the Muslim countries especially the ones under occupation and others who has American bases send all American soldiers and businessmen, oil companies out of their countries? So all this looks very artificial to me.

I know Irak very well. Together with their Shiis,Sunnis, and Kurds they were all very peaceful people.(much more peaceful than İranians). Although there was a dictatorship under Saddam, no different than the other Arab countries, there was also a secular system and there was no terrorism. Irak totally was a beautiful country with modern looking buildings streets and people. And lets look what happened now. Irak seperated to three parts.Kurds,Sunni Arabs,Shii Arabs. Lost its secularity became an İslamic country, there is no order, anarchy everywhere, very poor ,almost starving people, cant sell its oil, everyday dying tens of people. And this fire can pass to neighbouring countries Turkey,İran,Syria anytime, because of Kurds. We are under the threat of civil war. Especially if USA attacks to Iran what will happen then? Do you people know how İran lands and İranians are.You think İran is easy to take like Irak? Ottomans invaded everywhere around except İran. Our borders stay the same for 600 years. When you attack there claiming that you are defending USA again (funny argument), this may be the end of your empire indeed. I am not saying this that I have sympathy to İranians but because I know them.I am not sure if America is calculating the risks properly.

I think that the world is going to paranoia and anarchy today. And the reason is that there is no balancing second super power against to USA. EU dont want to be a super power. They want to live without military with declining populations, old people.Arabs can never be. Russia is finished. My only hope is China or İndia.I want them to stand against USA as soon as possible for the sake of world peace.
