Who discriminates and compartmentalizes?

Reader comment on item: Romney's Remarkable Speech in Jerusalem
in response to reader comment: Who Will Vote For Obama?

Rex,

I find it quite offensive to segregate women, single mothers and other so called groups and make sweeping assumptions about their voting intentions. How can anyone determine that an entire group defined by nothing but their sex organs will vote in any particular way? Are women one-issue voters because they are women? Is our country broken down by color race and gender? That is a patently democrat way of perpetuating racial and gender divides.

The fact is that we are all individuals and divide across many lines on many issues. For example, I am a social liberal, a fiscal and F.P. conservative, and a woman. My priorities are what cause me to vote and choose what is most important in my mind. Right now, that is the economy, and I suspect that there are an awful lot of voters out there who agree with me. Social issues take a back seat to bankruptcy and pocket books. On the other hand, I agree that the entitlement segment of the population, those who receive benefits and pay no taxes, will vote for Obama. And that again is regardless of their color, "race" or gender.
