A Love Affair With GOP Romney/Ryan

For those of you set on having a love affair with the GOP ticket of Romney and Ryan, I would strongly suggest you recall the Reagan/Bush GOP ticket, involving the Baker Boys. In the year of 1980, I watched the Haredim at the American Consulate in East Jerusalem all line up to cast their absentee ballots for Reagan. What happened during the Reagan years between the U.S. and the State of Israel? Hint: Withholding of weapons systems, withholding of guaranteed loans, condemnation of settlements, condemnation of annexing territory, Madrid Conference, direct talks with Arafat and the PLO, and Oslo.

As James Baker most eloquently stated: "F the Jews!" Bush Jr. continually withheld a much needed missile weapons system from Israel for a full eight years. Obama gave it to them. Bush Jr. turned Iraq into a satellite state of Iran -- and made the average middle-class taxpayer pick up the tab, while giving his wealthy friends very generous tax cuts, tax credits, and other subsidies (entitlements) to the wealthy.

Thanks to the GOP, Iran is more of a threat than ever before. It was pure folly to think that one can turn both Iraq and Afghanistan into Anglo-Saxon democracies -- a point on which Mr. Pipes agrees. Just look what the various GOP presidents have done in the Middle East. Is the Middle East a safer place today for the Jews of Israel, considering the actions of the various Republican presidents?
