A Better Alternative For Israelis and Palestinians

One of the alternatives to both the one and two-state solutions, where really no one wins or gains anything, is a confederation of two states like turning New York and the state of New Jersey into a sovereign country. There is one problem: land. Unless the Israelis and Palestinians can purchase land from surrounding states, there is little room for an alternative path to equally benefit both parties to the conflict. Right now, there exists a zero-sum game: one's advantage is the other's disadvantage. The Israelis and Palestinians should join forces to purchase land from surrounding Arab countries. Unfortunately, the present Middle East environment precludes this from occurring.
