First, thank you, Daniel Pipes. The substance of Romney's speech was left out of the accounts I had read and heard.

This speech really is a milestone. By speaking of the moral bond between the US and Israel, the shared convictions, and an alliance for good in the world, Romney is recognizing the fundamental morality of there being a Jewish state. This is what has been sadly missing in recent American foreign policy, and it is what the media repeatedly challenge. Israel's existence is at its root a moral issue.
