Freedom, a two edged swordReader comment on item: Spreading Islam in American Public Schools Submitted by Darwin Barrett (United States), Nov 26, 2004 at 20:20 A free society, by its very nature, includes the elements of self destruction. In the 1920s and 30s, in the spirit of diversity and freedom of speech, the totalitarian voice was introduced into the classroom in the US (Read Horowitz's "Left Ilusions"). They grabbed control and have never let go. This is the source of "Political Correctness" in this country. As long as one's platform is consistent with the liberal left wing totalitarians, one will never be denied a voice. Christianity is denied a voice in the public schools because it is based on individual freedom, rights and responsibilities. Fundamentalist Islam is totalitarian, and therefore will be allowed a voice in our public school system. Eighty years of liberal left wing indoctrination in our school system have turned most of the population into people who are afraid to support the principles upon which this country was founded. While the Islamic Army (Al-Qaeda) wages military conflict, the balance of the 1.3 billion Muslims in the world pursue the mandated Q'uranic agenda; viz convert, subjugate, or destroy the infidels. We need to wake up soon. Hopefully we are not too late to be effective. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
