The silence screams volumes

Reader comment on item: Spreading Islam in American Public Schools

Submitted by N. Raabe (Australia), Nov 25, 2004 at 08:35

The near total silence coming from the Islamic community, particularly the religious leaders, is blood curdling. Any religion breeding terrorists the way Islam, the most populous religion, clearly is doing, can only be considered as the greatest threat to western civilization. Ever.

There is nothing peaceful about the way that Islam spreads by brute force, murdering anyone who gets in their way. Spreading fear, hatred, a license to kill under the guise of a religion.

This is a religion that allows murder to quell opposition.

This is a religion that annihilates those who don't obey.

This is a religion that blames everyone else because they are so hated, and yet does nothing but spread hatred.

Yes, I agree. The writing is on the wall. And everyone should be insisting, without let up, that this religion must vocally and publicly teach tolerance for others, teach that murder is a mortal sin for which there are no rewards, and that killers and terrorists are criminals and won't be tolerated in their mosques or anywhere else.

If they don't stand up and do that, then they should be treated as a cult.
