Reader comment on item: Give Gaza to Egypt

Submitted by Ilene Richman (United States), Apr 15, 2011 at 14:42

Israel won this parcel, which was originally part of Judea and Samaria, in the 1967 war. "To the victor go the spoils". Therefore, since Gaza was part of Jewish land from the beginning of Jewish existence in this part of the world and Gaza was retaken during the war of 1967, Gaza belongs to Israel.

Israel should move the Gazans into Egypt even if they have to pay Gazans money for land. . In this manner, Israel will have a secure border on the its western side. The same should occur on the West Bank (which is really the eastern side of Israel). The Palestinians are just another group of Arabs (introduction via Yasser Arafat-an Egyptian), who originally belonged to Jordan. In the War of 1967, Israel took back this land as well. The Palestinians should be moved to Jordan, even if Israel pays for the land, so Israel will have a secure border on the eastern side.
