Makes Much More Sense than a Divided Palestinian State

Reader comment on item: Give Gaza to Egypt

Submitted by GWK (United States), Jan 30, 2008 at 19:57

The Jerusalem Post may be attacking the problem from a simplistic viewpoint,, but from a simpler-is-better approach, it seems that Egypt should govern Gaza. And Gaza has so very little in common with the West Bank, and so much more in common with the Sinai arabs. While I haven't thought through all the pluses and minuses, I think this could work.

My concern -- will the population explosion in Gaza and in Eqypt's most radicalized and poorest segments, cause Egypt's government to collapse and cause Egypt to slide into chaos. Would this be a contributing element toward that slide?
