and agree with your evaluation completely. The il-lah is obviously related to the generic El in Phoenicia and other points - also in Hebrew (Elohim)

Great post about the moon god and its survivor in Islam - so clear that crescent moon's origin. BTW the Islamic calendar is still lunar.
