Reader comment on item: A Madrasa Grows in Brooklyn

Submitted by Carol Solfronk (United States), Apr 25, 2007 at 18:29

My comment is really a question. How does New York justify using tax dollars for a seemingly religious instituion? My husband's parents came to this country from Czechoslavakia, bringing with them their parents. My husband was not ALLOWED to speak Czech after he was two or three years old. No special classes were set up for him or others in the Czech neighborhood to attend. They were expected, and wanted, to become part of the American mainstream.

They came to this country for a better life and more opportunties, NOT to try and change it. If the muslims want to come here for these reasons, fine: but if they come here to try to make it a Muslim country, then they need to go back to their native countries. The polictical correctness of the liberals is going to come back and bite them----an the rest of us too unfortunately.
