Muslim Schools in America

Reader comment on item: A Madrasa Grows in Brooklyn

Salaam

Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models. It is a crime against humanity to send Muslim children to non-Muslim schools with non-Muslim teachers. They need to learn standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. They need to learn Arabic to recite and understand the Holy Quran and Islamic literature. They need to learn their mother tongues to keep in touch with their roots.

Muslim children from the sub-continent ,and especially from Pakistan, need to learn Urdu to enjoy the beauty of Urdu literature and poetry. The mastery of Urdu language is essential for the social and emotional development of such children., otherwise, they will suffer from Identity Crises.
