The term Islamist is too general, non-descript and again open to (sometime deliberate) misinterpretation. Their philosophy is fascist and their justification an interpretation of Islam that is Mediaeval. We need a description that can clearly identify them as being separate from the rest of Islam. That term needs to have demeaning quality that other Moslems will recognise.

Militant Islamist is accurate but we need the Mediaeval quality to firmly attach so that differentiation among Moslems can take place.
