We have named the enemy are we prepared to engage them?

Reader comment on item: "At War with Islamic Fascists"

It is a sad reality that we are at point were we can not distinguish friend from foe. We need to obliterate bases of Islamic Fascism as we did to the German and Japan Axis by firebombing Berlin and Tokyo along with the annihilation of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

We thought surgical strikes could win wars. We thought we could hand them democracy without removing the enormous cancer that has befallen the Islamic world. We were mistaken. Wars are won by the complete and unconditional surrender of the population not just the leaders. The less the population the easier it is to secure their surrender.

Were will the first nuke go off and usher in the dawn of a new age, Jerusalem? Not likely, probably Baghdad and parts around. If it does go off in Israel, with 200,000 American troops stationed in range of a nuclear tipped Iranian missiles or suicide bombers, what kind of response will we have? It may involve likely the sacrifice of 200,000 U.S lives.

Even if a nuke hits Jerusalem do you think Iran will leave a calling card? No. Will we allow Israel to retaliate? Where will they retaliate, Iran, Syria, Lebanon? All of the above, assuming they are still capable of retaliating. Let's face it no one nows how a nuclear power will react to a nuclear strike. It's never happened. Will the Muslim world sit idly by as millions are nuked? Do we retaliate on behalf of Israel, were do we strike? Will Pakistan sit idly by? Not likely, Musharaff will be executed with 24hrs of a nuclear strike on Muslim soil. Will India preempt Pakistan? Yes. Are the Saudis hiding nukes?Bet on it. Will China take advantage and invade Taiwan, or be dragged in by North Korean impulsiveness? Either way they will be forcced to engage. A failed North Korea will mean US troops on Chinese borders in the middle of a nuclear war. Will Japan quickly move to go nuclear within 6 months?Probably 90 days. Will the Soviets, sorry Russians, give the final solution to the Chechnya problem? Why not everyone is nuking left and right.

The inevitable economic collapse of the western world precipitated by nuclear war will quickly eradicate the tenuous and hypocritical economic alliances we have. Once those alliances are stripped bare a mad rush will ensue as the world is reordered as never before. What we face is not M.A.D but something as horrible, a game of Nuclear Roulette, were the last one to fire his wad hopes to be the last man standing.

We are closer to worldwide nuclear war than we were in 1959. I don't believe at this point anyone has answers. I fully understand the fear my parents faced in the 1950's and 60's with duck and cover.

We may feel safe here at home in the USA. I don't fear a direct Iranian nuclear strike. I do fear what a nuclear strike anywhere in the world would mean. A likely world wide slide into Nuclear Holocaust. This is exactly what Ahmadinejad sees. He knows that even if he dies, once the domino is kicked there is no stopping it.

It's clear the inevitable is approaching and we clearly do not have the will to prevent it when we struggle to even name it.
