Shariaism

Reader comment on item: "At War with Islamic Fascists"

Submitted by Henk Twerda (Netherlands), Aug 17, 2006 at 15:24

I am in favor of using the name Shariaism, as name for this ideology, or form of Islam, because this name might have the advantage that it is likely to be acceptable to a broader groop of people. The Leftists and the moderate Muslims will not use a name that contains the word Islam.

Shariaism has the advantage of not containing the word Islam, while not hiding the fact that Shariaism is a form of Islan, because it is widely known that Sharia is derived from Islam. The Name Shariaism also points people to the fact that the growing influence of Sharia achieved by peaceful means is also a danger.

While I think that Shariaism should be the name in the long term, I am in favor of using also the term Islamic Fascists, because using it proves that we are not giving in anmore, everytime Muslims tell again one of the Fairytales of 1001 opressions.
