About those 900,000 Jews that were forcibly expelled from Arab lands.

I am growing a bit weary about this story and how it is used to manipulate opinion. My family was expelled from Egypt. I can be considered somewhat of an expert on the second exodus from Egypt, not only by virtue of having participated in it, but also having written about and maintaining my own blog about Jews from Egypt and their glorious days there before the Nasser Revolution.

Has it ever occurred to anyone on the right, and yes, I have listened to Daniel Pipes speak, that this expulsion was a response to the creation of the State of Israel? And don't call me a self-hating Jew, and all this other drivel. I am stating facts. I have just finished reading the newly revised edition of Jews Under the Crescent and the Cross by Marc Cohen of Princeton University. I think that all of our good friends on the right, and to the right of the right, need to read this book. I will have a review of it coming up soon in the Sephardic Newsletter which is published by scholar David Shasha. We need to stop politicizing and re-writing history.

As for the arab situation now, it's colored by the conflict in Palestine. Do you really think that Israel would benefit from peace in the Middle East? It's one of their greatest tools for support...just like they took ownership of the Holocaust and made it their own, though if asked, though they perished, millions of German Jews did not want to settle or be part of the Yishuv.
