Well, Faisal is using an old mohamedan old trick to steal legitimacy. Just as they lay claim on Jerusalem on the basis of a lie: that Mohamed ascended to heaven from a mosque that did not even exist at the time!

It's a means to an end. The end is to appropriate the land or monuments of others, the means they use is to lie.
