Blind eye toward reality

Reader comment on item: The Snipers: Crazy or Jihadis?

Submitted by Victor G. Lipshutz (United States), Oct 29, 2002 at 11:21

Don't underestimate the American public. As the sniping continued, many of us began to suspect a terrorist relationship, well before their identity was revealed.

But this blind eye toward reality undoubdtedly delayed the apprehension of these terrorists, since noone was looking for a terrorist connection, especially in the form of 2 black men, one an ex-GI.
