Has anyone read Mark Goldblatt's op-ed in USA Today (10/29) on a possible connection between Muhammed and the radical NOI splinter group the Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earths.

Early on I thought the sniper attacks fit the profile of Islamist terrorism for more closely than that of a traditional serial killer. (Serial killers are sexual predators and are not likely to be attracted to the impersonal nature of long distance rifle attacks, and even those who are such as Berkowitz almost always have a specific victim profile.)

Yet, the one fact that tilted toward "crazy" rather than "jihadi" was the repeated proclamation on the tarot card and other media of "I am God." This would be blasphemous in the extreme and highly out of character for a typical Wahhabi or traditional militant islamist. But the Five Percent Nation cult holds the belief that African males are "God." They teach, "that the Blackman is God and his proper name is Allah ( Arm Leg Leg Arm Head)
