Muslim In The Forces

Reader comment on item: The Snipers: Crazy or Jihadis?

Submitted by Ali Strickland (United States), Apr 1, 2005 at 16:28

I recently joined the National Guard (Intelligence Analyst) and I also happen to be an American Muslim. People should understand that there is no contradiction between "Muslim" and "American". The USA gives more freedoms to Muslims than any other state in the world and as Americans, we still have to safeguard our nation.

Muslims need to recognize that there will always be those that attack Islam but we can change the minds of other Americans by stopping the radicals. By defending my nation, I defend my faith.
