Muslims as patriotic citizens?

Reader comment on item: The Snipers: Crazy or Jihadis?

Do Muslims have to be patriotic to be 'ok'? Can we just be neutral citizens? Do we really have to subscribe to the self centered ideology of patriotism?

Perhaps we like many others are find it morally reprehensible America's blind support for Israel, a country which have stolen Arab lands and ethnically cleansed millions of Palestinians from their homes and into refugee camps.

The best position position for us American Muslims is not to support the side of injustice just because we live here, but rather, be that moral voice which speaks out against tyranny... and to work out hardest to educate the misinformed American public about the truth of this conflict.
