Recipe For War

Reader comment on item: [The Gaza Withdrawal:] A Democracy Killing Itself

Submitted by Mark Lobo (United States), Aug 16, 2005 at 01:05

I believe Pipes is overestimating the peace-making intentions of Sharon. Does he actually think Sharon has turned around from his statement below regarding "a recipe for war"?

1. Establish borders (the fence; done)
2. Beef up military presence in the area (done)
3. Get your people out (starts today)
4. Prepare for more mortar fire, rocket fire, suicide bombers, etc (been there, done that)
5. Declare war on this new geopolitical entity called Gaza. (Far-fetched?)

Stay tuned on CNN,
