Part of the stated MEF mission/goals includes cheap oil. Since the money flowing into the region comes almost exclusively from oil, isn't a better goal to decrease and eventually eliminate our dependence on their oil? By developing non-oil based energy solutions we not only diminsh our need but possibly other consumers (i.e., China). Cut off the billions of dollars of oil money to the region and see how quickly we gain a complete and total victory.
