Reader comment on item: Replacing the U.S. Constitution with the Koran
in response to reader comment: Muhammad

You're missing the big picture here.

I strongly believe that had Muhammad been alive today, he would not have done some of the things that he did back then. He would have acted within the existing laws of the land as he did back then. His deeds were not meant to be valid for all times.

Perhaps you did not read my previous response to you properly: I knocked down some of your points completely. Some of what you said with regard to his deeds were false.

Remember that he was never accused of being a "pervert", although plenty of insults had been heaped upon him by his enemies...from being a sorcerer and a wizard to being bewitched. But the words of the Qur'an had a powerful effect on thousands of people who heard them from him, including a number of notable Jews of Medina who responded positively to it, even at the risk of being shunned by their larger communities.

Do you believe that the Bible needs to be revised? It is, after all, a violent book in itself...even more so than the Qur'an. Read it for yourself if you don't believe me.

If the Quran were to be changed by man to fit his selfish desires or to allay his fears, it would cease to be the Qur'an.

He is an example to us today by means of his good deeds...and there are plenty of them, all of which you have conveniently left out and focused solely on alleged "bad deeds". Nice.,..
