I beg to differ

Reader comment on item: Replacing the U.S. Constitution with the Koran
in response to reader comment: The world's biggest problem

I may be the pious Muslim here. The "pious" Muslims you mentioned in your post may be nothing more than a bunch of hypocrites. Islam is a lot bigger than what we make it out to be.

The Qur'an challenges us to use common sense over and over again. One cannot put down all the laws of common sense into one or more books. God gave us a brain to use to find Him. Tying up Islam into a bunch of Hadiths diminish not only Islam but Muhammad as well along with his eariest followers.

We all pick and choose what we like out of what we see. But in the end, we must never stop seeking the truth. And God in the Qur'an told us to fear only Him and nothing else. Yet these so-called "pious" Muslims are afraid of any challenge to their narrow, bigoted wordlviews. They are of this world; God asks us to look forward to the afterlife. The life of this world is a test for all of us.
