Islamists and the Constitution

Reader comment on item: Replacing the U.S. Constitution with the Koran

The so called Hizb al-Tahrir (vocalized in Modern Arabic as Hizb e-Tahrir ) was established by al-Nabhani in the early 1950's in Haifa.

Now the Arabic word hizb means party and the word al-tahrir means the freedom but notice that Symes from the Nixon Center calls it Hizb ut Tahrir al-islamiyya (sic) Now from the garmmar point of view the last word shoud be in singular case and it shoud be al-islami.

Now notice that what al-Nabhani had in mind was to establish a political party and the goal of such party was to come to political power and then to follow in the path of the so called al-Khulafa' al-rashiduun (the first 4 khalifas or Abu Bakr al-Sideeq, Umar al-Farooq (the redeemer), Uthman and Ali)

Now in islamic myth the time of al-Khulafa' al-Rashiduun (632CE to 660CE) is supposed to be what an islamic state is all about . However, as was pointed out by the late Farag Foda that was killled by Islamists and by suspected followers of Hizb al-Tahrir, is that what islamists do not tell us is that it was time of violence and wars and 3 out of the 4 khulafa' were killed by other Muslims!

And what is even more damaging to the case of such islamists is that there was really no Islam the way we know it now back in 632-660 CE and there were no books of law and islamic law was all made up much later on in distant Iraq and Iran!

Now notice that a khalifa at that time was supposed to be ( as was pointed out by Crone) khaliaftu allah (the word khalifa can be translated as the deputy or the deputy of God) with the explicit idea that such khalifa can establish and change the law as seen fit and he was in charge of both the temporal as well as the sacred. But later on this was changed during the Umayyads to khalifat rasul allah or the deputy of the messenger/prophet (muhammad) of Allah which made it very clear that the Ulama wanted a rule in Islamic law and this relegated the rule of the khalifa to politics and no more

So what we have here in Hizb al-Tahrir is a political organization that aspires to win in elections and if elected then we can have the khalifa where the leader would be a khalifat rasul allah and would only deal with the profane aspects of such state and the ulama will be in charge of the sacred.

So what does this mean? It means that if such group wins here in elections in the US then there will be a khalifa and the ulama will be in charge of the then imposed islamic law and the Constitution will have no place and yes we infidels have to pay the jizya. This is not surprising in the least and it also reminds me of the communists and their aspirations if they were to come to power

How can we defeat these demagogues? The same way communism was defeated and that was in the market place of ideas and to expose to the whole world that the time of the so called al-khulafa' al-rashiduun was time of violence and wars and that 3 out of 4 were killed by other muslims and that the original khalifa that they would like to emulate was a khalifatu allah and not khalifat rasul allah as they claim and good luck to the ulama. I would also expose to the whole word what islamic law says about infidels and non Muslims

If we were able to defeat communism then we can also defeat this evil called Hizb al-Tahrir
