Replacing the US constitution by the Islamic Sharia

Reader comment on item: Replacing the U.S. Constitution with the Koran

Submitted by Janusz Kowalik (United States), Jul 24, 2009 at 15:44

I think that the real possibility of replacing the US constitution by the Islamic law is remote and unlikely in the foreseable future. But the Hilton meeting described by Dr. Pipes is disturbing.

Radical Muslims take advanage of our freedoms and ]promote their barbaric and backward ways of living and ruling.THey do not realize that Islam is a historical fossil that rersisted change and modernization. It is based on ideas cretaed by illiterate herdsmen fifteen hundred years ago. This is they who need to change not the US cOnstitution that is only about 200 years old and was created by enlightened men. whose idaes are still alive and practical. In contrast the sharia is a product of the extremely primitive men whose ideas are totally obsolete and rejected by all advanced civilizations.

Perhaps capitalism is not an ideal system and needs to be corrected . But replacing it by Islamic laws would be like replacing modern houses by caves or Internet by fire smoke communication. Anybody who seriously thinks anbout introducing in US ISlamic laws is an individual who should be confined to an insane asylum or disinvited from USA.
