It is an unfortunate circumstance that one would use the term 'evangelical' to describe the type of Christianity that promotes un-Biblical activities. It is one of the better successes of those who would use this situation to make light of what true Christianity is, that of spreading the truth of Jesus Christ and His true Gospel to all who would believe in Him for salvation. Christianity was never meant to be used to gain control of this world, but to save people from the control the world has on humanity.

Though the strict pronouncement was to Israel (see Hosea) for ignoring the commandments of the Almighty Sovereign, it is allegorical to those in Christianity who should better understand the Holy Bible in order to be completely true to it in obedience. If the Scripture says to Christians, be defenders to Israel and her promises, what in the world is going to happen when such strict pronouncements are ignored......as the earlier reply observes is happening in America...judgment.

Christianity without true spiritual leading as a religious force is indeed culpable here, but not nearly as at fault by those who eschew Christianity altogether but use it for their purposes of destroying America from theinside, as Abraham Lincoln said would occur. This then is the basis for a return to truth, that obedience to the Word of the LORD is paramount to any true Christian, from the littlest of the citizens, to the leader.

Since we see that mainstream religious Christianity has allowed itself to be used for politcal purposes, it is very unlikely that such a return can be achieved without being compromised, and we all have seen what compromise has done in the name of Christianity. It will require the King to sort it all out when He returns.
