On the Right of Return

Reader comment on item: Bush Promotes a Palestinian "Right of Return"
in response to reader comment: whose right of return?

Submitted by Joe (United States), Jan 15, 2008 at 19:31

Following German's defeat in WW2, the Czechs threw out their ethnic German population which had lived in that country for generations and yet no one ever said that was unfair. No one has ever branded the Czechs as racist or bigoted or inhumane.

So why is it that after the Arabs start a war, they cannot be held accountable for the aftermath? I think it's absurd to have expected the Israelis to have welcomed the Arabs home after their fellow Arabs waged a war of elimination on them.

Had the Arabs won the war, they would have fulfilled their promise to eliminate the Jews, robbed the banks in Tel-Aviv, and confiscated the land bought and developed by the Jews, for themselves. I'm sorry for the Palestinian people but the Arab countries do bear the responsibility for their condition more than Israel.
