Yes, It Is Islam

With all due respect, I ask Dr. Pipes to please reconsider the following statement from this article:

"It's not Islam or some cultural factor that accounts for this difference; rather, it is the fact that ideological enemies in the Middle East have not yet been defeated."

On the contrary, Dr. Pipes. It is exactly the fundamental teachings of Islam from the Qur'an and Ahadith (sayings of Muhammad) that have created the "ideological enemies" in the Middle East that we know as "Islamic terror groups." Refer to the mission statement from any Muslim terror group and they will contain the ideologies that Islam teaches as justification for their ongoing jihad against the freedoms provided by Western culture. Thus, belief in the fundamental teachings of Muhammad is what has caused Muslims to consider martyrdom the highest honor that they can contribute toward the cause of Islam.

The ideological enemy in the Middle East will never be defeated as long as Muslims believe that Islam must prevail as the sole religion for this earth.
