Reader comment on item: [The Hamas Electoral Victory:] Democracy's Bitter Fruit

Submitted by David W. Lincoln (Canada), Jan 27, 2006 at 11:52

Given the fact that the Palestinian Authority controls territory once entrusted to Great Britain after the first world war, I see an opening for the following:

Great Britain, Australia, and the new Canadian government which will be sworn in on February 6
spearhead a drive. The results will see the British Commonwealth take over the territory until such time as those Arabs who want to live in peace with Israel, that those Arabs do not have to fear for their lives.

In other words, Northern Ireland redux. But this time, the job gets done right.

That way, Hamas, Fatah, and the other groups who want to continue deforming the souls of Arabs will be marginalized.
