A new Hamas "state"

Reader comment on item: [The Hamas Electoral Victory:] Democracy's Bitter Fruit

Submitted by Pigfoot (United States), Jan 29, 2006 at 21:12

Hamas recently said that its gunman should become the army of the new "state". If that becomes the situation, two states side-by-side, not at peace, there will be a cetain outcome. Hamas will mount some sort of ill-fated attack , as a "state". Then Israel will have every right to hit them hard. That will be a good thing in the long run.

The new "democracy" will revive itself minus Hamas. In the short run there will be an increase in oil prices, UN blathering and suicide bomber attacks in Europe and perhaps in the USA. The Arab states will make noise, but they don't really care about the Palistinians much less Hamas. Then Roadmap #2 will begin.
