The true nature of the Arabs

Reader comment on item: [The Hamas Electoral Victory:] Democracy's Bitter Fruit

Submitted by Michael Savitt (United States), Jan 27, 2006 at 09:54

After listening to President Bush try to explain why there was something positive about the elections on the West Bank and Gaza, it was obvious that he is either lying to himself or to us. I hope it's the latter because it is scary to think that the leader of the free world could be such a dupe.

The elections did NOT reveal the Arab desire for better hospitals, roads, commerce or an end to the wholesale extortion tactics of Fatah. They revealed and illuminated what any Jew already knew. The Arab people, when given a chance to voice its opinion, will demonstrate their desire to murder Jews. This desire has been there for centuries and is still there today.

In one sense, this election is a good day for Israel. It will demonstrate to the world, or at least those who are unwilling to fool themselves, the true desires of the Arab people.
