Reader comment on item: [The Hamas Electoral Victory:] Democracy's Bitter Fruit

Submitted by Darwin Barrett (United States), Jan 27, 2006 at 20:39

This is the result I would expect when the citizens of any country vote for their leadership. The people can be expected to vote for the leadership that appears to best represent their culture. The operative word is "appears". The strongest propaganda machine controls that appearance. In the middle east, the Islamists control the propaganda machine, and therefore the totalitarian Islamists appear to best represent their culture.

In the west the liberal Left controls the propaganda machine so the left appears to best represent our culture. The West lost the propaganda war to the left over 50 years ago and our country has been in rapid decline ever since.
