Islamism in the Republican Debate

Reader comment on item: Identifying Islamists through Interrogations

Submitted by John Moore (United States), Jan 29, 2016 at 09:31

Once again the Republicans present seven potential "leaders of the free world," plus three world class moderators who discussed Islamism and not even one knows that Islamism is NOT Islam? Does even one know what Islamism is? In two hours the word never came up, nor their followers, Islamists. They mentioned radical Islamic (as in: related to Islam) terrorism, radical Muslims, radical Islam, Islamic State, Islamaphobia and radical Islamic jihadists. Every single one of those is an indictment of the religion of Islam, and not once did they mention the real enemy which is ISLAMISM. Why won't someone in the media, in the MRM, or in government accept the responsibility of fixing this? They love to blame Obama for not being willing or able to name and blame the enemy. Obama has not only failed to name and blame our biggest threat, he has left us rudderless in defending ourselves from it.

Leaving our enemy nameless allows him to call us bigots when we unwittingly associate Muslims and Islam with radicalism, violence and terrorism. Yet the Republicans and Fox News failed to name and blame the real enemy.

Our inability to separate peaceful religious Muslims practicing their peaceful religion of Islam from terrorists following their political ideology of ISLAMISM is a NATIONAL SECURITY NIGHTMARE.

The MRM knows why, and Daniel Pipes knows how, but the government and the media fail to identify or even name our worst NATIONAL SECURITY NIGHTMARE.

Please, please somebody with a voice take the responsibility of fixing this.
