Non-Islamists are also a danger!

Reader comment on item: Identifying Islamists through Interrogations

Submitted by Rich Mc (United States), Jan 15, 2016 at 14:53

A Muslim 'moral' enough to refuse to slaughter infidels (Dhimmis) refusing to pay the Jazyah tax, or for that matter, apostates, either denotes an Islamic slacker or someone in conflict with key religious doctrine, if considered otherwise devout. In practice, I believe this dissonance has resulted in a pervasive empathy felt by many mainstay Muslims toward Islamists: visceral revulsion over their violent atrocities, which however remain wholly consistent with prescribed scripture everyone must obey.

This has resulted in the observed large-scale silence of the mainstay Muslim community in publicly condemning Islamist actions, and perhaps in some even looking the other way. Question becomes: should we allow such non- Islamists who are tolerant of, or who enable Islamists into our Country (and if not, how do we screen for them)?

You are pointing to a real problem, namely what exactly are the boundaries of Islamism?
