That screening process

Dr. Pipes - I do not believe that there is any real chance that, if the US government were to institute a screening process such as you propose, all the people or almost all the personnel hired to do the screening would have the high level of competence that you say the task demands.

But suppose by some miracle they were competent. Do you really think there is even the slightest wisp of a chance that the US government would hire enough such people to do all the screenings quickly, without a long backlog? The system you describe would be, in practice, a complete and absolute ban on travel to the United States by any Muslim who did not plan his/her trip, and begin the approval process, many months in advance.
