Syria can be the wake-up call to this nightmare illusion

Reader comment on item: Twenty Years of Illusion about Islamism

Submitted by Michael Hanni Morcos (Canada), Jun 18, 2012 at 00:29

It just dawned on me that we are still functioning on the Bigger Cold-War Illusion -To simply put it -we are giving in way too much to the point of Self-destruction in regard to our Core principles, that we sacrificed a lot to achieve and maintain, just to be the envy and challenged by the rest of the World.that is what America stands for. We are bowing down to principles that are completely detrimental to our very existence--just to be one up with the Commies. This competitive mentality of selling out in order for them -[commies]not to move in and take over our Turf in order to safeguard our Vital interests and National Security.

This game we played with the Russians was evident with Egypt 'Nasser and is also playing out in Syria[in reverse] and will be playing Again in Egypt with Tantawi and Mubros Morsi -as Egypt heads towards an Iran style Islamic state -My point is it's far far better to stand up to who we are and what we believe in-than to be so complacent like with the Saudis ,Russians ,Egyptians or Chinese -when the reality is that they are All want and admire our Core as they see Happiness in it. Syria would be a textbook example to wake up from this Nightmare.

Thank You.
