Reader comment on item: Canada's Muslims, Not of One Mind
in response to reader comment: Perception of Islam

Mr Slayhy, in defense of his religion, writes:

"...Muslims actions today is way away from the teachings of Islam..."

To be honest - I have to give you credit for this admission - which has been made on more than one occasion. 99% of muslims will not admit any problems exist and always try to justify their behaviour.

Adherents of many religions do not closely follow or indeed understand their true meanings or purpose - i.e. to achieve psychic wholeness and eventual enlightenment. But no social strife follows because of that.. Human rights are still upheld. Social order is maintained - women are seen as equals to men. Gays can go about their business without their human rights being transgressed.

But after 1400 years - why is the 'simple truth' of islam so dramatically misunderstood - by so many - in so many places? And with such dire outcomes?

Misunderstanding of other religions by their adherents has led to no such strife. Do Buddhists or Christians or Hindus have a problem with Jews? Or want anything like a global caliphate that must be achieved at any cost? So that their group alone remains supreme? And non-adherents become second class? And think that women are mentally deficient compared to men? Do Buddhist or Christians or Hindus or Jews get their knickers in a twist and decide it's OK to kill someone should they decide they no longer want to be a Buddhist or Christians or Hindus or Jew?

Far better to have clearer religions with clear precepts that cannot be misunderstood don't you think?

and that is why you find Christians who know the True Islam enter Islam, there are 10s of thousands of cases of western Christians entering Islam, they don't see the actions of the Muslims, they see what Islam is..."
