Reader comment on item: Canada's Muslims, Not of One Mind
in response to reader comment: Allow minorities their beliefs and laws

Submitted by Prashant (United States), Nov 4, 2011 at 01:10

Dear Dr Pipes:

The reader slayhy from United Arab Emirates suggests that Canada should allow Sharia-based laws to be followed. I assure you, dear readers, that Slayhy is not a hypocrite. UAE and all other Islamic nations with 98% of Islamic population allows their minorities all sorts of freedom. Church bells are ringing in Saudi Arabia, preaching of Bible and Torah is encouraged in UAE. Hindus are living in Pakistan as they would live in paradise. Malaysia and Indonesia have just declared themselves to be secular democracies. Slayhy is demanding what his brethren are already granting to everyone else. Slayhy is not a hypocrite.
