I'm rather curious about why this change of tactics is a BAD thing....

It is a given that Israel's opponents will not have a sudden epiphany and turn themselves into zionists. And GIVEN that they are philosophically and politically opposed to Israel's zionist vision for Palestine (or eretz yisrael, if you prefer) then I would have thought that you would applaud their decision to fight this out in the realm of public opinion and "international legitimacy". After all, if Israel really does have a "legitimate right to be" then shouldn't that be Israel's battlefield of choice? Because otherwise it appears to me that there is an underlining hypocrisy in your words i.e. you insist that Israel has "legitimate right to exist", but you bemoan the fact that this isn't being settled by the sword......

Daniel Pipes replies:

I did not bemoan the fact that Israel's opponents use different tactics. I bemoaned the fact that the iIsraelis have not made the necessary adjustments.
