The IDF trapped the despicable terrorist flotilla

Reader comment on item: "Free Gaza" Flotilla Defeats the Israel Defense Forces

Professor: I was very interested to read your critical assessment of Israel's behavior in the face of the insane provocations of the Turkish sponsored flotilla to Gaza. But I strongly disagree. You are comparing apples with oranges. Potential Islamic Terrorist mayhem and violence against the state of Israel on one hand versus ephemeral public relations nonsense on the other. I was particularly interested to read the Spiegel article at the link on the word TRAP at the end of your piece. The last line in this article is a total misrepresentation of the facts:

With Israel, precisely the opposite is true: In times of crisis, Israel seems to search for opportunities to turn the world against it.

This is the epitome of anti-semitic and anti-zionist bias and equivocation. Do you know whose views this attitude parallels? Yariv Oppenheimer, the insane leader of the insane Peace Now movement. He published an article in YNET the other day that mirrors the complete detachment from reality the above Spiegel statement represents.

ISRAEL'S DEPLORABLE MORALITY

Even If The Flotilla To Gaza Is Annoying And Even If It Arouses Anger, No Sovereign State Can Deal With Every Protest Like An Act Of Terrorism Concluding In Bloodshed

It seems to me that with backwards logic like the above Yariv Oppenheimer would also define the second intifada as a "protest." Of course, over a thousand innocent Israelis were murdered in cold blood in that "protest". God spare us from Yariv Oppenheimer – and Dr. Spiegel.

I do not accept your assessment that in the battle with the terrorist flotilla from Turkey Israel lost anything or paid any severe penalty or any penalty whatsoever for what we did. Lunatics like the Spiegel and Self hating Israelis like Oppenheimer can say whatever they like. Israel is at war with Islamic terror, the flotilla from Turkey was a foray into battle with us a deliberate provocation and confrontation for the sake of doing Israel harm. The so and sos who were responsible for this insane foray got exactly what they deserved. The world you'll recall also condemned Israel for destroying Saddam Hussein's nuclear reactor. There was no justice in that condemnation either. And I won't even mention Goldstone.

All the best,
