Flotilla, a well planned act pf provocation, and a test for Obama

Reader comment on item: "Free Gaza" Flotilla Defeats the Israel Defense Forces

Submitted by Dan Goor (United States), Jun 3, 2010 at 00:17

The "Turkish Flotilla," was not designed to ease the lives of Palestinians in Gaza, after all, ten tons only represent about 10% of what Gaza gets by land every week! The flotilla was designed to cause an incident by performing an act that Israel had to react to.

The designers of the flotilla, including the new Turkish Government, planned a test for President Obama. Since President Obama's speech in Cairo, when the President promised favorable treatment of Muslims, the young US President did distant himself from Israel, but was never put to a test of taking sides in a conflict between a Muslim ally and Israel; Turkey and the flotilla is now the test!

In spite of having built a chasm between the United States and Israel, the President is in no position to back anyone, Turkey included, against Israel when Israel is defending itself. With Hamas ruling Gaza ,while bound and determined to destroy Israel, any and all ships, or other vehicles with "supplies," should be searched and closely scrutanized by Israel in protecting itself.

The Turks and those others who participated in the flotilla miscaculated the fact that most rational people, especially the United States Administration, support, and expect Israel to defend its people...
