Re: Alternative Way Of Stopping Flotilla - Avoiding Public Relations Nightmare

Reader comment on item: "Free Gaza" Flotilla Defeats the Israel Defense Forces

I have seen several articles trying to justify the legality of Israel's actions....

I would have handled the whole thing differently from the point where the Israeli Navy encountered the flotilla at sea.

I would have permitted the flotilla inside the three mile limit, with the clear understanding that the flotilla was instructed on more then one occasion en-route to Israel that it was in violation of International Law.

Once the Flotilla forced itself into Israeli territory, I would have had the Israeli navy escort the Flotilla to port... If the Flotilla resisted, The navy would have been perfectly within its rights to fire warning shots at the Flotilla.

Once at port, with the Israeli Army standing ready.. I would have forced the passengers of the Flotilla to disembark.. and walk into the waiting arms of the Israeli police. With Army Soldiers pointing their weapons at you.. your not going to do anything that stupid....

I would have also filmed the whole event & let the passengers of the flotilla see that their actions were being transmitted live, for the world to see.

I would have then seized any weapons, showed them to the public, and thanked the country that supplied them... I would have then stated that the Israeli Military will use those very weapons against combatants the next time Israeli citizens are subject to attack.

Submitting....
