Democracy or DemolocracyReader comment on item: A Democratic Islam? Submitted by Mansoor (Pakistan), Apr 17, 2008 at 14:26 Islamic Governing systems, specially Caliphate era, can be considered a smooth system when it comes to individual calm and satisfaction and smooth running of social system. There are lot of examples of the level of happiness, security and abundance of wealth enjoyed by the countries of that era. Not to forget the golden days of Islamic Caliphate and great names like Khalifa Haroon-ur-Rasheed, a name always remembered with the Abbasia Caliphate Era. The individual life of common people were in great sense of satisfaction when security, law and order situation and increase in living standard is counted. The "shura" the advisory system was very strong and majority of actions were taken in full conformity of Public demand. The security, the education and health were all state's responsibility and the armed forces were always equipped and well prepared. The end of Caliphate system with the demise of Ottoman Empire started never ending misery for the Muslims. The British, French & Portuguese Invasion on Muslim states and ruling for a considerable period put a long lasting impact. The leaving of Islamic teachings forcefully due to closing of important religious Institutions and destroying the great heritage of Islamic literature created a vaccum which is still very short to be filled. The present wave of democracy is very same to that which was enjoyed during Caliphate system but the thing which separates it with what was practiced by Muslims is the exclusion of religion from the system. The concept of God and commandments were cornered and a trend of religious lawlessness is propagated in the name of democracy. The liberty of human is bringing individual happiness and focusing of individual life rather than looking after the rights of others. Religious practices are discouraged and confined only to few rituals. The liberty to live life of your own choice without knowing the consequences is creating a society isolated in their own mindset and with extreme hate for religion. In Islamic countries though, due to continuous efforts of the movement of Dawah (Invitation to Islam) the family system, respect for elders specially parents and love to neighbor and other similar goodness of Islam are highlighted and propagated strongly. People are now finding ways and progressing quickly to accept Allah's commandments and understanding the logic and concept of law of Islam the Sharia. The crimes and isolation and atrocities against women would minimize in coming days once it is understood by Muslims that women are given greater rights as compared to men in Islam. A mother is the most respected figure in Islam rather than west which has uncountable number of mothers who have their hands red with the blood of their innocent aborted babies. It is very heart warming to see my Muslim sisters wearing scarf and understanding the importance of being properly covered and adopting dresses under Islamic Sharia codes. Muslim men are now preferring to have beard and wear dresses of Islamic codes and submit themselves to Allah's will. These actions have brought satisfaction in life and a very great feeling to have Allah watching and helping all the time. The close contact with Lord is not experienced in any other religion of the world. Be it 5 times prayers of Fasting or traditional and cultural practices. Islam is now strictly followed in true spirit by huge number of population not only in Muslim countries but also in the west. I am seeing Islamic golden days marching and reaching us and I am proud I am sensing that very well. I am seeing the shivering bodies of Infidels, the screaming voices of Kafirs who are vowing that Islam is gaining ground again due to strong awareness among the Muslims. I know the Era of Muslims downfall would not last longer and the days of crushing the disbelievers with utmost force are reaching the doors and about to knock...................
