No Muslims No Terrorists

Reader comment on item: A Democratic Islam?

Atatürk just dismissed the whole religion in the political and educational plans (he even changed the very alphabet of the country, in order to get rid of Arabic, the language of the Koran). Taha dismissed the whole Medina period of "revelations," that is, most of the Koran, and the result was still not exactly tolerant by the West's standards. Hassan Hanafi did not bring any demonstration of a way to build a tolerant and peaceful stance out of the Koran.

Those are just small and unconvincing exceptions in a sea of violence, treachery and intolerance. And they are not in any way backed by the example of the prophet and his companions. Whereas Christians could always find very strong models of peaceful piousness in a first-degree reading of the NT, there's hardly any tolerant word or gesture Muslims could show in their scriptures toward the outside world.

The whole moderates' trick is to argue that Muslims' violence was justified, and maybe that they could do without it today, if there was not that political context… you know. The rest of the peaceful interpretation comes entirely from silences. Nothing seriously indicates that any peaceful and tolerant Islam can be honestly interpreted out of the Koran.

So if Muslims (or/and others) want to try it, fine, but not in my backyard.

For now, let's get rid of Islamic religion. Not by law, as politicians and elites are too cowards. But on the ground. Let's resist each and any attempt to practice that religion in any way. Let's discredit people selling or reading the Koran, let's condemn the very daily prayers of that religion, as a way to despise other believers. Let's get it known:

No Muslims = No Terrorists.
No Islam = No Jihad.
No Koran = No Hatred.
