A Democratic Islam

Reader comment on item: A Democratic Islam?

Dr. Pipes,

"With all due respect," oxymoron does not begin to cover the issue.

My limited exposure to the essence of Islam, The Koran, leads me to much disagreement with your position as to the potential of Islam towards democracy. Whistling in the dark comes to mind.

Keeping this reply brief, your continuing work in Middle Eastern affairs is appreciated.
