Last year there were talks of the birthplace of prophet Mohammed was facing the bulldozers, with the connivance of Saudi religious authorities. The motive behind the destruction is the Wahhabists' fanatical fear that places of historical and religious interest could give rise to idolatry or polytheism -- This is according to the Saudi architect, Dr. Sami Angawi.

That being the case, the statues depicting Mohammed in the US, being objectionable to Muslims should not surprise us.

Mecca and Medina are in the Hijaz province, that belonged to the Hijazites until the 1920s, when the al-Saud tribal chieftain conquered the region and occupied it. Now these same Saudis are all upset about Jews returning to their own home-land. The Saudis have the audacity to call it "occupation" of Palestine by Jews!!!
