Reader comment on item: Destroying Sculptures of Muhammad

Submitted by Mansoor (Pakistan), Feb 28, 2008 at 03:10

It is most unfortunate that people who are against Islam and beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are gradually coming out of the bag. Previously their attempts were too limited but since the media power has emerged strongly in the present age, more serious and mind blowing attempts are witnessed by non-believers all over the world.

My initial perception about Denmark was a non interfering and peace loving nation, but repeated attempts by an artist living in this country and cold shoulder attitude of the Government of Denmark over this issue has raised several questions. The whole issue is quite deep rooted, Denmark is being gradually made vulnerable target of so called extremists. Continuously challenging and testing the anger of Islamic forces would bring Denmark to the tip of a volcano.

It looks very unusual to non-believers that why Muslims show so overreact on the issue of disrespect of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The main reason is that that these people have forgotten how to respect and honor their own religious figures and how to treat them. You can see cartoons of several Christian religious figures so many times and on so many newspapers and people least care about it...because they don't give any importance to them. Going to Church on Sundays off and on is just a ritual not an obligation, thus religion is thrown out of the houses in the west.

Muslims love their religious figures more than their own life, family and children. They respect them and honor their services to the humanity. Any attempt to disgrace their position would always lead to never ending violence. Today common Muslims tend to take law into their hands because most of the Muslim Governments are weak or not capable to unilaterally take any strong action, be it military or on diplomatic front. The present inability of Muslim Governments have induced individuals to take charge and stop those who are thinking that they can cross all the limits.

The issue is very alarming and highly dangerous.
