Islam discourages tribalism

Reader comment on item: The Middle East's Tribal Affliction

Submitted by Ahmad (United States), Jan 27, 2008 at 09:45

Hello all,

Islam discourages tribalism unless something positive is coming out of it.The concept of me and my brother against my cousin was pre-islamic. The post islamic concept is me and anyone who is wright against anyone who is wrong or anyone wronging people. The main reason for some people sticking to these pre-islamic behaviors is because of the anti-islamic nature of the goverments in our area. Whenever they see true islam coming out, they attack it.
